Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create a Tag account, we may collect information such as your email address and authentication information needed to create and secure your account.

Profile information. You may provide information that appears on your Tag profile, including your name, profile photo, occupation or professional description, interests, connection intentions, and other profile information you choose to provide.

Location information. Tag uses location information to determine which available users are nearby and to estimate proximity or walking time. When you choose to become Available, Tag may continue receiving location updates in the background so that your location remains current while you are participating in Nearby discovery. Background location is used only while you have chosen to be Available.

Tag is designed around your current location rather than maintaining a continuous location history. Your most recent location may be stored and updated so the service can determine proximity. Stale location information is excluded from Nearby discovery.

You can stop participating in location-based discovery by selecting End Availability. You can also manage location permissions through your device settings.

Interactions with other users. We collect information necessary to operate features such as Tags, mutual Tags, Waves, hidden users, blocked users, and reports.

Photos and uploaded content. If you upload a profile photo or other supported content, we store that content so it can be displayed as part of the service.

Notifications. If you enable notifications, we may collect device push-notification identifiers and information needed to deliver notifications about activity such as Tags, mutual Tags, and Waves.

Usage and analytics information. Tag records limited first-party analytics events to understand how the service is used and improve the product. These may include events such as app opens, signup progress, profile completion, availability activity, Nearby views, Tags, mutual Tags, Waves, notification interactions, blocking, reporting, and account deletion.

Tag's analytics are designed not to include precise GPS coordinates, profile content, email addresses, photos, authentication tokens, push tokens, notification text, or report explanations as analytics metadata.

Technical information. We may collect technical information necessary to operate, secure, diagnose, and maintain the service, including request information, application errors, device or operating-system information, and security-related records.

We use information to provide and operate Tag, authenticate users, show relevant nearby people, calculate proximity, maintain availability, enable connections and messaging-related interactions, deliver notifications, operate safety features, prevent abuse, troubleshoot technical problems, understand product usage, improve the service, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Location is central to Tag's Nearby experience. Other users receive information about your relative proximity or estimated walking time rather than your precise GPS coordinates.

When you become Available, Tag may use background location so your position remains sufficiently current even when Tag is not open on screen. Ending Availability stops your participation in Nearby discovery and stops Tag's availability-related background location activity.

Mobile operating systems may limit or delay background location updates, so Tag cannot guarantee that every displayed proximity estimate is exact or continuously updated.

Information you choose to place on your Tag profile may be visible to eligible Tag users when you participate in discovery or connection features.

We may provide information to service providers that help us operate Tag, including providers of authentication, cloud infrastructure, data storage, push notifications, application distribution, security, and technical services. These providers process information on our behalf or as necessary to provide their services.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the rights or safety of Tag or its users, investigate misuse or fraud, or respond to valid legal requests.

We do not disclose one user's precise GPS coordinates to another user through the normal Nearby experience.

Tag provides tools that allow users to hide, block, and report other users. Blocking prevents supported interactions and discovery between the affected accounts. Reports may be reviewed for safety, abuse prevention, and enforcement purposes.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Tag, maintain account and security functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Current location information may be replaced as updated location information is received rather than being maintained as a continuous location trail.

You can initiate permanent account deletion from Tag's Settings. Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated personal information from Tag's active systems, subject to information we may need to retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or other legitimate obligations.

We may retain minimal technical records that are not used to recreate your deleted profile when necessary to prevent an old authenticated session from improperly recreating a deleted account.

You can edit your profile information, control whether you become Available, manage location and notification permissions through your device, hide or block users, and delete your account.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or receive information about how your personal data is processed.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Tag is intended only for people age 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to use Tag. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may remove the account and associated information.

Tag relies on third-party technology providers to operate portions of the service, including authentication, infrastructure, storage, push notifications, and mobile application distribution. Those providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Tag evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required.
